PREFACE TO THE DIGITAL VERSION

Here it is. After more than twenty years and three revisions - the history of our families in digital form. Spanning over 250 years, containing 140+ megabytes of data in 275+ files in 23 folders, it is the electronic version of a hard copy volume, which would stand slightly over 2' thick.

Because this version will be viewed on a computer screen, some of the pages may be a little difficult to read as they are presented. Use your zoom and magnification controls to enlarge your view.

A lot has changed since the last revision. The explosion of the Internet has made available countless sources that were not generally available when Arthur M. Horn Sr. did his research in the 1970's. Sites like Ancestry.com, and Family Search, to name just two, contain innumerable family trees to peruse for genealogical nuggets. A word of caution when visiting these sites - there are a lot of family trees that contain birth and death dates and the parent for John Peter Horn, as well as the maiden name for his spouse. To date, I have been unable to verify any of this data with those who posted it. The data may be valid, but until it is verified, I will not include it in our family history. Virtually everything in this family history has been gathered from original reliable sources; the few exceptions are so noted.
